Hey pet parents, do you find yourself celebrating Mother’s or Father’s Day as loving parents of your fur babies?
There will always be people saying you are not a real mom or dad until you get a “human” child. While we all know they are wrong, there is a holiday dedicated to us, pet parents — National Pet Parent Day.
That’s right. We get a day to celebrate our dedication and hard work. And there are a lot of us — 84.9 million families in the U.S. own a pet. After all, raising a pet is no easy task, and we should take a moment to celebrate being a pet parent.
National Pet Parent Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of April, and this year, it falls on April 25th.
So, how can we celebrate?
- Enjoy time with your pet. Give it extra attention and affection.
- Pamper your pet with some extra grooming. If you’ve never groomed your dog, we’ve made a guide to help you get started.
- Brag on social media. We, pet parents, are obsessed with our pets and want to showcase them. It’s never been a better time than April 25th.
- Buy yourself and your pet a gift. Luckily, we’ve made a comprehensive list of the best dog gifts and cat gifts.
Wolves were domesticated and treated as pets as early as 12,000–14,000 years ago. In other words, there have been a whole lot of pet parents since. We bet a lot of them wished they had a day dedicated to their love for their pets.
So, this year, on April 25th, make sure you take the time to celebrate being a pet parent and brag a little.
