Fromm Family Foods has voluntarily recalled their Shredded Entrée dog food due to elevated vitamin-D levels.
The recall happened immediately after they discovered the higher-than-usual percentages during their analysis.
If you’ve bought any of these products, you should stop giving them to your dog immediately. No illnesses have yet been reported, but you should still be careful.
Vitamin D and other vitamins, even from human food, are great for pets. But elevated levels can be harmful.
If you notice the following symptoms in your dog, immediately consult a vet:
- Loss of appetite
- Increased drooling
- Increased water consumption
- Loss of weight
- Increased urination
If you’re worried, but your dog has no symptoms, you can still take them to the vet for a checkup. The cost of a physical exam is somewhere between $45 and $55, but it’ll give you peace of mind knowing your pet is okay. And if it happens not to be, you’d still save money by reacting on time.
