Tuffy’s Pet Foods Recalls Their Salmon Entrée Dog Food

Freshpet Recalls Their Chicken Recipe Due to Salmonella

Tuffy’s Pet Foods voluntarily recalls their Pure Vita Salmon Entrée Dog Food due to the potentially high levels of Vitamin D.

Only the food in Tetrapack (carton) of 12.5 oz with product code 0 73893 96202 1 was affected.

The affected product’s lot numbers are 0629101N1 and 0901101N1, while the best by dates are 29 Jun 2023 and 1 Sep 2023.

The manufacturer discovered the problem, and Tuffy is doing everything possible to prevent this from happening again.

Although no illnesses have yet been reported, it’s suggested that the owners should stop giving their pets this food immediately.

Vitamin D poisoning is severe for both pets and humans and is not to be taken lightly. Exposure to excessive Vitamin D for a long time can lead to kidney failure and other serious health problems.

If you notice that your pet is exhibiting the following symptoms, you should take them to the vet immediately:

  • Vomiting
  • No appetite
  • Excessive urination
  • Losing weight
  • Drinking more water than normal

It’s essential to react immediately.  Even if your pet isn’t exhibiting any symptoms, if you know they had the food, it’s recommended to still go for a checkup. If you wait too long, it might cost you over 1,000$, and it may be too late.

If you bought the recalled product, you can return it to the retailer you purchased it from and get a full refund.

Until your favorite food becomes available again, you can always choose another balanced food option

For any questions about the refund, you can contact Tuffy’s customer service by email at [email protected] or phone at (800) 525-9155 every workday from 8 am to 5 pm.
