Due to the elevated levels of Vitamin D, The Wet Noses Dog Treat Company voluntarily recalled their frozen Simply Nourish Dog Food.
There are approximately 51,000 packages distributed to PetSmart pet stores that contain elevated levels of Vitamin D.
Although vitamins are beneficial to our dogs’ health and food like vegetables give them the essential boosts, elevated levels are not suitable.
Dogs react to Vitamin D poisoning the same way they do when they eat a harmful plant.
So, if you notice the following symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately:
- No appetite
- Vomiting
- Exaggerated drooling
- Excessive urination
- More thirsty
It’s essential to react right away, because dogs in contact with high doses of Vitamin D for a long time can suffer from renal dysfunction.
